Breaking Down the Freelance Writing Industry | Professional Writing & Editing Services | https://www.TheProPaper.com

Recently I’ve been dealing with a large amount of resistance from people that blog about freelance writing. When I reach out to them about The Pro Paper, a writing and editing service, they are quick to judge who we are. One of the unique aspects of our service is that we offer a bidding system as opposed to a flat-rate, and this is what many people seem to devalue. Funnily enough, I am not a writer or a web-developer. I am an economist. I built the website because I saw an issue with the countless writing services that prey on writers, and I wanted to empower the writers to have freedom in the work they choose.

What many people seem to think is that the bid-system is a way to rip off the writers, and that the flat-rate system is much more beneficial. I’d like to point out that when you introduce a flat-rate, or a minimum wage, you will always reduce efficiency. The Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco conducted an excellent research project on the effects of minimum wage on the labor market, click here to read the results.

Essentially I want to point out that people should only be paid what they’re worth, no more and no less. Does it make sense that a skilled writer and a mediocre writer make the same amount of money for the same work? As a service provider, my job is to make sure that everyone is happy when they use my service. If The Pro Paper used a flat-rate system, then there would be no reward for a writer to go above and beyond in the work they do. But if they know that as they gain credibility, they will be able to do higher-level work, then they will work hard to gain that credibility.

On the other side of the coin, the people paying for the writing service should only get what they pay for. If someone only wants to spend $5 for a blog article, why would I insist that they pay $10? If there is a writer out there that will do the job for $5, then that is how it should go. It’s really a win-win system, even if it makes the competition a little fiercer. When someone comes along with $500 to spend on a 30-page research paper, you can bet just about anything that he will not hire just any writer. He is going to hire the writer that has good reviews, a good track-record, and examples of their work.

At The Pro Paper, we want to provide both writers and users with an excellent experience every single time they use the website. We would love to hear your opinion on this, feel free to comment on this article with your opinions. At the end of the day, freelance writing services are always going to be in demand. Writers will always be able to find the work if they are willing to search on their own. At The Pro Paper, we make it easy to find jobs. As you complete more jobs, the amount we take in commission’s decreases quickly. While other services will take a 25% flat rate, the most we will charge is 20%, and after completing 500 jobs, we only charge 1%!!! Come check us out today at https://www.TheProPaper.com.
